Situation in Serbia caused by Coronavirus

Because of the outbreak of the COVID-19, Serbian authorities declared a state of emergency on Sunday, March 15. All higher education institutions are closed until further notice. Nevertheless, many Serbian students continued with their studies through online learning platforms. A great number of public places is shut down, too.

To halt the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Serbian government decided to close the borders to foreigners until further instruction. Entrance to the country is only allowed to Serbian citizens, diplomats, and foreigners with a residence permit at the moment. Serbian citizens who come from abroad must be subject to a 14-day self-isolation, and those who come from the countries most affected by the coronavirus must stay isolated for 28 days.
