Four Serbian universities ranked in ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS)

ShanghaiRanking Consultancy has published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) for 2018. This year, Serbian universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac were ranked among world’s best in different categories.

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) is a branch of the international Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) published annually by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. GRAS is global sub-ranking of subjects and it assesses the score of more than 4,000 universities in 54 subjects.

The catalogue of programmes for foreign students

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and Foundation Tempus have published the catalogue of 150 study programmes in foreign languages that are offered for foreign students by Serbian universities in the academic year 2018/19. The programmes featured in the catalogue are accredited in English or other foreign languages and are available to degree seeking students who want to study in Serbia.

First CEEPUS application round for 2018/19 has been opened

Interested candidates from participating institutions from Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia are welcome to apply  for mobility in Serbia via CEEPUS online platform.

Opportunities to study in Serbia through the Erasmus+ programme

Through the Erasmus+ programme, students from European countries have the possibility to spend their mobility periods in Serbia with a full scholarship. From 2015, when the first mobilities started up to this moment, more than 2000 students and staff from the Erasmus+ programme countries higher education institutions (HEI) have spent their mobility periods in Serbia.

If you are a student coming from an EU member country or Island, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey or FYR Macedonia (so-called programme countries) and you want to spend your mobility period in Serbia, there are few main things you need to know.

How to find study programmes for foreign students in Serbia?

There are over 200 study programmes for foreign students at all higher education institutions in the Republic of Serbia, and students can explore opportunities for studying at one of those programmes at one place.

At Study in Serbia portal you can browse these programmes by type, for example choosing all academic or applied studies, or by education level - Bachelor, Master, PhD, etc. Please use the search form on the Programmes page and all the programmes will be listed as you add new filter item on the left. Pay attention that you have ticked the boxes to include the programmes in English or other foreign languages.

New education laws enacted in Serbia

Starting from October 7, 2017, the Republic of Serbia enacted a set of new education laws, including the Law on the Education System and the Law on Higher Education.

University of Belgrade among world’s best in 2017

For the second year in a row, the University of Belgrade confirmed its position as one of the 300 best universities in the world, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), better known as the Shanghai List. Three more Serbian universities are listed in Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the year 2017.
