Belgrade will host the 5th European University Games

The capital of Serbia will host the 5th edition of European University Games from July 12th through July 25th. It is not surprising that Belgrade was chosen to host the Games. It is a well-known university city with 2 public and several private universities. To give you an idea, the University of Belgrade solely has around 100,000 students, which makes it one of the largest universities in Europe. It is also one of the oldest in the continent and by far the oldest university in Serbia.

Belgrade was also the host city for the 25th Summer Universiade in 2009. It welcomed around 6000 competitors from 122 countries all over the world. As many participants said, the competition was remarkable, an experience that will always be remembered; not just because of the 30 broken records, but because of the hospitality of the organizer.

In the upcoming European University Games, the capital of Serbia will show hospitality to approximately 6000 student-athletes from all around Europe. Students will compete in 19 sports, including 2 Paralympic sport disciplines.
