Admissions to undergraduate studies for the 2020 autumn intake are now closed

Most universities, faculties, and colleges in Serbia closed the first round of undergraduate applications. As we explained in our recent post, undergraduate admissions in Serbia are organized in two cycles. The first intake of students usually starts at the end of June and closes by the end of July. Each higher education institution sets its deadlines and decision dates. The second round of admissions is typically open in late August, and it lasts for a couple of weeks. Both admission cycles are for the autumn semester as there is usually no spring semester intake in Serbia. A few universities will accept applications throughout the year. Application deadlines should be always checked directly with higher education institutions.

There are a limited number of spots available for each study program. A vast majority of students apply for admission during the first intake to secure the place at the desired faculty. Also, it is common that all the spots at the most popular study programmes are already taken during the first round. However, candidates who missed the first round of undergraduate admissions will still have the chance to apply for some study programmes during the second intake in late August.

For master and doctoral studies, calls for applications are usually open in October, sometimes in late September. For those programs, there is only one admission round. Calls for applications and deadlines will be announced a few weeks before the application starts on the institutions’ websites.

Candidates interested in studying in Serbia are encouraged to check our catalogue of English taught study programs. For more detailed information regarding the application procedure, please consult pages 20-23 and get in touch with the higher education institution of your choice.
