200 new scholarships for studying in Serbia for international candidates

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has recently adopted the decision to continue with the project “World in Serbia” in the academic year 2020/2021. The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development approved another 200 new scholarships in the ongoing academic year. 

The “World of Serbia” is a scholarship programme of the Republic of Serbia for the citizens of the Non-Aligned Movement member and observer states. Candidates must be nominated for a scholarship by the government of their respective country (e.g. Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs). 

Once nominated, candidates need to apply directly to the diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Serbia in their home country (embassies or consulates). 

Also, applicants have to meet the following general requirements: 

  1. Knowledge of English or French,

2. The completed previous level of studies,

3. Commitment to return to live in the country of origin after the completion of the program.  

The age limit for candidates for the bachelor’s degree scholarships is 21 years, 25 for master’s, and 35 for doctoral studies. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, food expenses, health insurance, visa-related costs, recognition of a previous foreign degree, preparatory studies of the Serbian language, and a monthly stipend of 15,000 Serbian dinars.
