In the latest ShanghaiRanking's Global Academic Subjects 2023, Serbian Universities have achieved remarkable rankings, underscoring their dedication to excellence and international standing in academia. 

The 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) encompasses rankings for universities in 55 subjects within Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. The rankings include over 1,900 universities from 104 countries and regions out of a total of 5,000.

Fostering International Education: Study in Serbia at EAIE Conference in Rotterdam

With a focus on promoting Serbia as an appealing destination for international students, “Study in Serbia” team participated at the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Rotterdam. The EAIE Conference, held from 26th to 29th September 2023, provided “Study in Serbia” team with the opportunity to network with international institutions and explore potential partnerships.

Application round for the CEEPUS program of academic exchange for 2023/2024 is open

The call for the CEEPUS, both Network and Freemover Mobility, applications for the academic 2023-2024 year is open. Students and academic staff from participating CEEPUS countries are welcome to apply for mobility in Serbia. Moreover, foreign students and teaching staff who are currently studying and working at eligible higher education institutions in Serbia can also apply for mobility abroad. Applications must be submitted online, via the central CEEPUS platform. The application deadline for the summer semester and Network Mobility candidates is 31st of October 2023. Freemover candidates can apply until 30th of November 2023.

Study in Serbia team recently participated in the NAFSA 2023 Annual Conference & Expo, held by the Association of International Educators. The event, which took place in Washington from 30th May to 2nd June, brought together professionals from the field of international education and provided a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. More than 8,000 attendees from higher education institutions, foreign governments, and other key industry stakeholders from around the globe were presented with valuable insights into the latest international education opportunities.

Renting an apartment in Serbia

The best and safest way to rent an apartment in Serbia is to hire a licensed real estate agent to ensure a higher level of legal security and reduce the possibility of illegal mediation activities.

You can check whether a real estate agent has a license on the official website of the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade by entering the agency’s name or the serial number under which they are registered. The register also contains all the data regarding the agency and information about agents who work there.

Before making any payments for your apartment, make sure first to sign a contract after you read it thoroughly and ensure that it doesn’t contain any misinformation or terms that weren’t agreed upon.

Deadline for CEEPUS freemover applications is approaching

National CEEPUS office in Serbia invites interested students and teaching staff to apply for a CEEPUS freemover mobility in the academic year 2022/2023. within the 30th November deadline. The freemover call and the deadline applies to students and teaching staff from CEEPUS universities who are eligible for mobilities outside of existing CEEPUS networks. In order to apply, candidates should register via the CEEPUS platform, where they fill in and submit an online application.

University of Kragujevac ranked among world’s top 600

The University of Kragujevac was ranked between 501st and 600th on the latest annual Times Higher Education Global ranking list. According to the list, it is the best-placed Serbian university for the second consecutive year, followed by the University of Belgrade (ranked between 801st and 1000th) and the University of Novi Sad (ranked 1501+). This year’s Times Higher Education ranking covers around 1800 universities from over 100 countries.
